Who we are

ChatterBerry is operated by EO VENTURES LLC. This policy explains how we handle information on this website and in the ChatterBerry mobile application.

Information we collect

We may collect your email address, account information, language preferences, learning goals, text transcripts, words you translate, practice activity, progress information, subscription status, and information you choose to share for personalization. The website may also receive limited technical information needed for security and delivery.

Voice and audio

When you use voice features, microphone audio is transmitted over an encrypted connection to Deepgram for speech-to-text processing. ChatterBerry does not intentionally save raw microphone audio to your account or its databases. A fallback transcription path may create a temporary recording on your device while the request is processed and is designed to delete that recording after the request finishes. The resulting text transcripts may be stored to provide and personalize ChatterBerry. We do not create or store voiceprints or biometric identifiers.

How we use information

We use information to provide and personalize language practice, remember useful context, generate coaching and recaps, process subscriptions, enforce usage limits, communicate with you, secure the service, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate ChatterBerry, including Supabase for authentication and data services, Anthropic for AI conversation features, Deepgram for speech-to-text, Cartesia for text-to-speech, RevenueCat and app stores for subscriptions, and hosting or email providers for the website and communications. These providers process information under their applicable service terms and privacy commitments.

Retention

We retain account information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Account deletion removes account-associated information from active systems, subject to limited legal, security, fraud-prevention, and backup retention.

Your choices

You may unsubscribe from marketing email, request access or correction, export available account data, or delete your account. In-app deletion is available from account settings when the app is released. You may also follow the instructions on our Delete Account page.

Age requirement

ChatterBerry is intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Security and international processing

We use encrypted connections and access controls designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Changes

We may update this policy as ChatterBerry evolves. We will post the revised date here and provide additional notice when appropriate.
